in memory of our short exchanges, always pleasant, at training camp
Gavin, you were a wonderful scientist, researcher, colleague, rower, bridge partner, and friend. You will be missed. Rest in peace.

With fond memories of Gavin as an amazing teacher, scientist and friend
A dear friend for more than fifty years. You will be sorely missed.
In memory of your friendship over many years You will always be remembered and missed from our masters squad and Putney Town RC
Gavin was just embarking on his academic career when I first met him in the mid-1980s and he achieved what he did through huge determination and hard work. He’ll be remembered for his scientific endeavours and by his many friends and colleagues. He was a steadfast friend who’s departed far too soon and he’ll be tremendously missed.
Facing the knowledge of his imminent death, Gavin had "no regrets". That is the measure of a man who lived his life to the full, fulfilled his potential (and more), and finished the race with a clear conscience. I am proud and honoured to have called Gavin a friend.
To Dear Gavin a dedicated researcher and much-admired colleague.
Thank you Gavin for your kindness, your willingness to help, your generosity and humour. We will miss you.
I was so lucky to be able to chat to Gavin in the last few months of his life. It was a privilege to be his friend.
We worked together for nearly 30 brilliant years and I will miss all our meetings, discussions, solving inevitable problems that you were so good at and our early morning coffees! Your candle will never fade and your research has improved the quality of life of so many patients with chronic lung disease and will do for years to come. May perpetual light shine on you and may you rest in eternal peace.
I will remember Gavin for his kind supervision, support and encouragement having started as his Clinical Research Fellow in April 2022.
Dear Gavin, missing your smile already. Always such a Gentleman, a keen Rower and party man. Lovely too that we both worked at the Royal Brompton Hospital. Always lv'd our chats.
WE had great times together. Gavin was an enthusiastic rower and a compassionate gentleman. He will be greatly missed.
Sending condolences on the loss of a fine rower and gentleman.
Dearest Gavin, You have a special place in my heart. You will be much missed both at Putney Town RC and on our annual training camps to Spain where you knew how to party. Mary
In memory of a lifelong friend.
